The National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) is Australia’s first national scheme for people under 65 yrs living with a permanent and significant disability which impacts on their ability to take part in everyday activities.
If you’re eligible, an NDIS plan with individual funding is approved to assist you to obtain the reasonable and necessary supports you require to live independently in your community.
The funding you recieve will also assist you to choose our preferred suppports and services so that you are empowered and in control of your own life as much as possible. You may also be able to get funding for a Support Coordinator who’ll help you get the most out of your NDIS plan.

Who are eligible?
To be eligible for NDIS support, you need to be considered as having a permanent and significant intellectual, physical, sensory, cognitive and/or psychosocial disability.
Here are the official criteria and if you fit some or all of these, you may be eligible for an NDIS support plan:
You’re aged between 7 and 65 years.
Australian citizen, permanent resident, or a New Zealand
citizen who holds a Protected Special Category Visa.
You have a permanent and significant disability.
You need to use special equipment because of this
permanent and significant disability.
You need support to complete daily activities and tasks.
What types of support are funded?
The types of supports the NDIS may fund are:
Daily personal activities
Transport to enable you to participate in community, social, economic, and daily life activities
Therapeutic supports including behavioural support
Workplace help to allow you to successfully get or keep employment in the open or supported labour market
Help with household tasks to allow you to maintain your home environment
Skilled personnel to do an assistive technology or equipment assessment, and help you with setup and training
Home modification design and construction
Mobility equipment
Vehicle modifications
